Welcome!

This blog combines two of my favorite hobbies: reading and baking. As a student in a library science program and the owner of a brand-new KitchenAid Stand Mixer, I’ve been consuming an ever increasing volume of books and baked goods lately. Follow along in my literary and culinary adventures!

My tentative career plan is to become a youth services librarian in a public library, so I’ve been reading a lot of children’s and young adult literature, both for school assignments and for my own reading pleasure. As I’ve grown older, I haven’t grown out of enjoying books like Go Dog, Go!, Charlotte’s Web, Where the Sidewalk Ends, The Mitten, and of course, The Phantom Tollbooth. I also still love baking my favorite childhood goodies, like TollHouse chocolate chip cookies, but I’ve begun to experiment with new recipes, attempting to bake muffins, bread, quiche, pie, and more!

  1. Hi Megan,

Reading and baking go so well together! I look forward to learning more about your adventures!
Children and Young Adult books never get old. Shel Silverstein is a favorite of mine. A great book
that combines culinary and literary is “Chicken Soup with Rice.” Good luck in your endeavors!

  2. Hi Megan,
Nice site. I am not much of a cook or baker, so I hope to learn a lot from this site. Looking forward to see some recipes my fiancé is willing to try. She enjoys cooking. I am more of the dishwasher.

  3. Hi Megan,

I thin that baking and reading are two topics that go very well together. Both require patience and attentiveness so I can see how an individual would be attracted to both of these topics. Nice creative use in combining two topics not often seen together.
